Threshold
When her family moves for the first time, an anxious young girl takes solace from this huge change through her imagination as she escapes to a magical world accessed only through a magical portal from the light of the threshold of her new home.
Threshold is a short film concept near and dear to my heart. As a child, I often played in the light that came through the window on the front door and spilled onto the hallways floor. That pool of light was a campfire, a river of lava, and most importantly, a magic portal to another world only I knew how to access. Contained here are preliminary character designs and storyboards developed to pitch this short inspired by my childhood. A personal project, I am committed to continuing to update and add character, environment, and prop designs as I develop the concept for this short on my own time.
